Stupid

Stupid Celtic Icon ...

I mean, the pattern isn't stupid, it's brilliant, Fiona Ellis! I heart it bad. I mean that it's not a thoughtless knit and so my version of it, where i got distracted, made a casserole, went to walk a dog, did my nails, and then came back to knit... well, that shizznit was stupid. So, with one sleeve to go, Celtic Icon, you're taking a rest.

And, that's okay! Because I have this to work on:

In Cascade 220 NECTARINE HEATHER, of all things...

And, this as my traveling project (and, by traveling, I mean on the bus):

Which is the million dollar afghan -- why is Noro so expensive?--that my parents will get for Chrismas!

I feel less stressed having a bunch of things to knit. Maybe tonight, I'll get some sleep!

This is it

Substitute "chicken & Chi Chi's" or "taste buds" for "you to do what I say"

I'm sure people said other things to me today, but somehow all I heard was "do it". Not their fault. I just need more than a weekend to regroup and get organized. Because I need to do both -- a few days for regrouping and a few days for organizing. No more last minute morning ironing of only the parts you see (you know, collar, shirt front, cuffs)!

Post a Day

This picture has nothing to do with anything. I just liked the look on that beebeh's face.

Trying to do a post a day.

It's hard!

Things that happen like Grace has a gig for me! (And, it's a good one!), or people like Prof. Al Youngwho throw a bunch of cool work your way, or places like Loopy have a sale that distracts you from waht you should be doing.

Durn.

Mistakes

I made some mistakes today.

The first of which was opening that bottle of champagne...ungawa. What the heck to I have to celebrate? Lack of clean laundry? Hoo-ray! Pile of dishes in the sink? Huzzah! My front butt refusing to leave and cede its territority to the flat abs it hides? Zippity-doo-dah. Anyway, I had a big glass of it and it was quite tasty, so whatever.

The second mistake, though, was a BIG UN -- I wasted the day. I could have done some laundry ( I guess I still can, actually... and yet here I am typing this). I did do a bit of work for my job. But, there are piles and piles of things to organize around here and instead? I started this
. (The lady sweater.)

And, I didn't work at all on this

But the worst thing? I watched this
. The whole thing. I don't deserve to live.

Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing

I read a bunch of blogs everyday. I have them all saved in my favorites list, but only a few in my links on the page, because I'm too lazy to update my template. Anyway, I always felt guilty when people would prod me to update my blog (usually my family), and swore I'd never do that to anyone else... but then I did. Thanks,John!

I love to knit

See this billboard for the Women's Institute? It's hand-knit.

I love to knit, too, but man ... more than 130 miles of yarn?

Actually, now that I think about it, I probably have about that, if not more, in my stash. And, it's taken me AT LEAST 250 hours to make that damned Celtic Icon sweater that's still not finished.

Knitting Should Be Fun

Knitting should be fun, or at least relaxing. But it's driving me nutso. I'm making this:
But it doesn't look like that at all. Well, first off, I'm making it all in one color, cream, but aside from that, it's GIANT. Boo. I think it might have to be a coat instead of a sweater. Now, if I can just meet someone 6 foot 7 inches or so, he or she will have a lovely coat. Again, boo.
